Have You Ever Had A Fat Miamaid

One of the many treats we had at girls camp this last week was a delicious little lovely that I like to call Fat Miamaids.  About 6 years ago I was the Mia Maid teacher at church.  That is I taught the 14-15 year old girls in Young Women's.  We were having an activity and needed a treat for the night and decided to make homemade ice cream sandwiches.  These are not your normal ice cream sandwiches though.  You actually make them with two honking huge Great Harvest cookies and a ton of ice cream in the middle.  They are obscene!  They deserved a better name than plain old ice cream sandwich.  They are so much more than just a simple little ice cream confection so we came up with the fun little name, Fat Miamaids.  That Tues. night activity was so fun.  I remember some of the boys running up and down the church halls yelling, "Sister Clawson can I have another Fat Mia Maid!!"  It was hilarious. We did receive a few strange looks from the other ward.  

So at girls camp this year we introduced a whole new bunch of girls to Fat Mia Maids.  Each Fat Mia Maid is usually shared, but I have seen one girl eat the whole thing before.  She was just a tiny weenie little thing.  Skinny as they come, and she inhaled a whole Fat Mia Maid.  In fact she now works for us at the bakery and still can pack in the food.  I want her metabolism. Maybe in the next life.  Until then I think I'll just enjoy watching others eat these babies.  I know how many calories and fat grams are in those cookies.  Why do you think the nutrition info isn't posted on them at the bakery.  No one in their right mind would ever buy one let alone eat a 750 calorie cookie, with 28 fat grams.  They are delish though I must admit.   I've eaten my fair share of the Oatmeal Raisin cookies. So here's to the 1500 calorie plus Fat Mia Maid.  They're sure fun to make and watch people enjoy!  Maybe it's that I secretly enjoy watching others get fat:)  No it's just the novelty of such a great treat I'm sure:)
